LA Times Covers Cultural Affairs

By Eric Richardson
Published: Friday, February 04, 2005, at 10:31AM

This morning the LA Times has a piece on yesterday's Cultural Affairs meeting. Staff writer Steve Hymon does a good job of portraying the meeting, and includes some fascinating response quotes from City Council members. For instance,

"I don't think we're going to appreciate the fact the commission is trying to establish their own agenda," [Councilmember Ed] Reyes said. "If they're not going to take us seriously, why should we take them seriously? It puts us in a very negative place."

Granted, he wasn't at the meeting, so he's responding to second-hand information, but still... Yikes...
