Urban Nature

There's a 12-story waterfall coming off the back of the Spring Street Lofts building right now. There's a drain pipe right there, so I'm guessing that's just not doing the job fast enough and the water's skipping right over it. It looks pretty cool.

I walked over to 7th+Fig for lunch during a dry spell, but there's no way I'm going out again in this.

Would have loved to see a pic of that. Yes - the roof drains were either plugged or filled to capacity - the scuppers or low points in the parapet apparently were doing exactly what they are supposed to do.

However - it is a rare building manager or owner these days who really understands what that means... get thee up on thy roof and fix the gawddamn drain before the 3 to 6 inches (or more in some cases) of water ponded on the roof below the scupper level finds its way right into the building. Water is just like that - some guys live for sex, or cars, or money (or football!!!) - water lives only to get down to the ground! It will get there through the past of least resistance every single time.
