Mayne Wins Pritzker

Thom Mayne, the architect behind the new Caltrans headquarters at Main and 1st, has been honored with the Pritzker prize, becoming the first American in fourteen years to win the award. I'm still not a fan of the Caltrans building in the context of its surroundings, but it is certainly a spark for conversation. Kevin Roderick has more over at LA Observed.
