A New Look

By Eric Richardson
Published: Saturday, May 21, 2005, at 03:02PM

I started playing around with putting a new look together for the site this morning, and since I'm not one to sit on things like that once I have them halfway decent, I've decided to go ahead and put it online. Hopefully you won't notice much of anything breaking, but if you do don't hesitate to email me at e@blogdowntown.com. The design's pretty straight forward HTML and CSS, and I've tested it in Firefox, Internet Explorer, and konqueror (which should mean it's ok in Safari).

You'll also notice the images on the left side. Those the most recent images from the blogdowntown flickr pool, which really means that right now it's pictures I've taken. I want to get more people contributing photos to the group, though. If you're taking shots of Downtown and have a flickr account, drop me an email and I'll send you an invitation to the group. If you're taking Downtown pictures and you aren't using flickr, you should start.

I'm still playing some, especially when it comes down to typography-ish stuff. I think it's good enough for now, though. -e;

I also just put a new version of eThreads in place underneath this whole thing. I put in some code that should knock out the sporadic "Internal Server Error" messages that cropped up every now and again. I hate those. I'm giving up a little speed to get rid of them, but if it works it's worth it for now. -e;
