Sitting Around and Counting Buses on Spring Street

By Eric Richardson
Published: Friday, May 27, 2005, at 05:18PM

I know, I get sort of single-tracked in some of these issues, but the idea of taking an overall look at how traffic and parking functions on Spring Street intrigues me. Today I took a little time to sit out in front of my apartment and count buses.

Yes, this is my idea of fun.

No, I don't get out much.

Anyway, take a guess at how many buses pass southbound on the 600 block of Spring Street between 4 and 4:30pm. Really... Guess. Then click Read More for the answer.

(Sorry RSS people... You get this without a jump.)

The answer: 46

That's 92 buses per hour during the peak period. Yikes.
