More Metaphors in Fight on Piracy

By Eric Richardson
Published: Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at 12:32AM

What is it with the metaphors that keep getting used in relation to movie piracy in the context of Downtown. On June 1st we heard that the new MPAA cameras were going to

help [LAPD] lift a rock and shine a light on rampant counterfeiting of DVDs which used to take place in the dark shadows.

Now, after three people have been arrested in a multi-fauceted bust, the LA Times writes that

The raids by 20 LAPD detectives and a group of Motion Picture Assn. of America investigators was one of the largest aimed at pulling back the curtain on the city's growing and perplexing network of individuals who trade in illegally reproduced movies.

Curtains or rocks... Pick one and run with it.
