blogdowntown Quoted in LA Business Journal

By Eric Richardson

A big thanks to Lynn Myers for letting me know that this site got quoted in this week's issue of the LA Business Journal. Apparently the LABJ enjoyed the recent stories about troublesome Australians as much as I did. Their "L.A. Stories" section includes a bit titled "Down Under" bylined to Spencer Kallick.

Quantas flight crews have said they're afraid of staying in downtown Los Angeles. But maybe downtown Los Angeles should be afraid of the Australian airline's personnel.

... Officials at Quantas and the Bonaventure said they wouldn't comment. But Eric Richardson's Web log, blogdowntown has had a good time with the irony:

"At this point I can confidently say that they're just whining," Richardson wrote. "If you're getting in fights over a spilled drink, you can definitely defend yourself from whatever it is you're afraid of encountering downtown at night."

Good to know who's reading...

Update (July 5th): Apparently my mention of Spencer here was enough to make him start his own blog. So far it's on world news and not LA, but I'm always glad to see well written opinions.

now all you both need to do is spell qantas correctly.

Oops... :) And I'm sure I really am the one responsible, too. The articles I linked to have the spelling correct. I'll have to check the paper copy to see if LABJ copied my error or I just reintroduced it in my transcription.

On the plus side, quantas.com will take you to the airline's site, so I'm surely not alone in my ignorance. -e;
