Not What He Meant, But...

By Eric Richardson
Published: Friday, July 22, 2005, at 11:15PM

I was just reading through the Downtown News' Best of Downtown issue and had a bit of a start at this quote from "Players, Pretenders, Aces and Jokers":

Most interesting response for who should leave the table: Victor Franco's carefully reasoned, "Some of the homeless and housing 'advocates': I believe that some of the policies that are suggested by some groups and individuals are only hurting the very people they are intending to help."

I first read it "some of the homeless", which I'm sure is a sentiment many would hold but didn't seem like something Victor would say. The whole sentence makes far more sense.
