City Beat Updates on LATC

By Eric Richardson
Published: Thursday, August 25, 2005, at 09:45AM

LA City Beat runs a piece on the LA Theatre Center this week. There's nothing particularly new inside, but it's good to see the issue staying alive, since even the Council has a tough time getting news.

Interesting to note that in the CityBeat piece they claim that the Latino Theatre Company was promised an $8 million grant by the state. I have to believe that's incorrect, since I sat through all of the meetings this spring and came away hearing $4 million each time. So many of the numbers associated with this whole debacle have been way too slippery.

"art deco-style facility"? that ain't art deco. it was built in 1916 -- try classical revival.

maybe they can dedicate a small portion of that $4 or $8 million to removing the star trek sign.
