A Different Image of LAPD Motorpool

Here Lies Gallery Row Eric Richardson [Flickr]

Responding to architect’s renderings of the new LAPD motorpool that had Gallery Row signage and presented a streetscape with a few pedestrians and Mercedes, Nic and Kjell presented this image at the meeting last night. I had to leave before they did so, but got a copy of the image to post here. As usual the truth lies somewhere in the middle, but it’s a well-done rebuttal image.

This is freaking brilliant. Congrats to Nic and Kjell for meeting the challenge with humor and guts. The picture puts the issues in the bright light of Los Angeles for everyone to see for themselves, and in the idiom of the architects doing the damage.

Good Work! -Tim

Hi Tim, Thanks for the comment. I would like to point out that in one of their proposed designs, they have a car making a left turn off of 3rd St. onto Main. 3rd is a one-way street heading West. They have the car driving the wrong way on their proposed plan! I have to wonder how much time the achitect actually spent studying the area before designing the motor pool.
