LAFD on Yesterday's Produce Market Fire

By Eric Richardson
Published: Tuesday, January 24, 2006, at 02:27PM

The Sheraton blocked my view of the Produce Market fire yesterday, but the Fire Department's blog has a great write-up with links to pictures and video. Not only do they give the department's take on the fire, but there are also links to views of the structure via Microsoft's Live Local, Google Maps, photos from ABC and NBC, and ABC video footage. That's thorough.

This is so sad. From 1992-1994 we rented 3 windows worth of day studio space right where the fire took place. With a thriving Vickman's Restaurant kitty corner from us and magnificent views of downtown all for $200 a month it was quite the space. Here’s a photo from that period when the sketchy liquor store was still open on the corner: http://www.concreteblondeofficialwebsite.com/PHOTOS/ALBUMCOVERS/Images/6.jpg
