Downtown Art Ride Approaching

By Eric Richardson
Published: Tuesday, March 07, 2006, at 10:01PM

The Downtown Art Walk is a very cool thing, but if you've ever been you've surely noticed that it's a little hard to actually walk the thing. With galleries spread all the way from 15th & Hope to Little Tokyo, you better have a good bit of time and a strong pair of legs if you want to do it all on foot.

That's where a pair of wheels comes in handy. On a bike the distance between galleries is nothing. Downtown blogger eecue came up with the idea for the Downtown Art Ride, an Art Walk companion that gets a group together on bikes, stopping at each gallery for a 10-minute scan. After the ride you can come back to the ones you want to check out in more depth, but this way you get to hit a bunch of galleries in one night.

Cartifact let me make a route map, which you can check out as either a PDF (1.3MB) or JPEG.

The Art Ride -- and Art Walk -- are this Thursday. The ride meets at Downtown Art Gallery at 5pm. Come check it out.

Hey Eric, Thanks for adding Crewest and Fine Arts Building... I'll update the map on the Gallery Row website tonight! See ya tomorrow on the walk. Nic
