DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Walking into work this morning I was passed by a gaggle of bicyclists with a sizeable police escort. I immediately thought that no one gets that kind of ride-along except the police themselves.

Sure enough, the support vehicle had a card on it for the Police Unity Tour. Only one thing: the Tour's on the east coast and these riders certainly weren't.

It would appear, though, that some riders are doing a cross country trip to the Tour. The details seem a little bit of a fuzzy match -- the linked blog says the 15th while today's the 14th, and there were a few more than twelve riders -- but I think it's pretty likely that's who I saw.
