Shannon Tries 626 Reserve, Declares It Good

sha in la posted her review of the new 626 Reserve wine bar last night. Her impressions were definitely favorable:

We were pleasantly pleased with our choices of Endive, Gorgonzola, Grapes and Candied Pecans Salad; Chicken Breast Sandwich with Carmelized Onions; Ahi Ceviche; and Spinach and Mushroom Quiche. I had a lovely red wine of some sorts (not a big wine drinker I am but the one I got was good). 626 Reserve is a Wine and Tapas Bar so be forewarned that the portions aren't huge. The prices seem to be on par with other similar restaurants and the atmosphere was lovely if not a bit sparsely populated however as I said earlier, it was a Tuesday in Downtown. We all agreed that we'd be back.

Seeing as 626 Reserve is directly across the street from me I'm excited to hear good things. Not being a drinker these days I don't care much about the wine part, but I am interested to try the food. This is a place that'll really benefit from the removal of the contraflow lane on June 18th, when all of a sudden they get parking.

Does this place deliver? We are looking for places besides Charm Thai and Pitfire Grill that deliver....suggestions are welcome!

I would think no... Their food is small dishes to compliment the wines. That is a good question about who else delivers, though.

ye olde taco house #1 will deliver. (the menu i have claims a $25 minimum, but depending on distance and how busy they are, they may deliver smaller orders.)

capperi (italian food in little tokyo) delivers.

there are a lot more places that deliver earlier in the day (like places in the grand central market and fashion district).
