7th Street Pedestrian Lights Getting Installed

Back in May I told you that City Council had approved a lighting district for 7th street in the Historic Core. Soon after the prep work had taken place, leaving squares of fresh asphault with orange cones sticking out.

Now the actual lights are coming. Yesterday I snapped this shot of a freshly installed pedestrian light on 7th just before Maple. The crew was just out of frame to the west installing another light.

I haven't seen the light these things put out, but I like the look of the fixtures and think they'll be a great addition to 7th street.

They recently put in some new fixtures on Sixth Street between Los Angeles and Wall. These are SUPER BRIGHT. I don't have any idea how the homeless can get any sleep over there.
