All the attention on Skid Row lately -- including today's Times article about arrests for daytime camping -- makes it very appropriate to point out that tonight is the October Skid Row Neighborhood Walk. If you want a chance to walk the neighborhood and talk to the people who are really making a difference, this is where you should be.

The walk leaves the Midnight Mission (601 S. San Pedro) at 6pm. I'm sure it'll be well-attended given all that's going on right now.

This is an important event for those of us who live and work Downtown to attend because it sends a message to those on the streets that there are people who care about Skid Row and aren't going to just stay away.
