Skating Weather: Weather-wise this may have been the perfect weekend to make it out to Pershing Square and the ice rink. Walking by yesterday afternoon the place was packed. There were even people there just to dance to the swing band that was playing.

Bookstore: In my walking around yesterday I also stopped in to check on Metropolis Books and see how their official Grand Opening had gone. The shop has new black and white photos of Downtown buildings on the walls, and looks to be planning a busy line-up of signings and events. Author David Kipen will be signing his book, The Schreiber Theory: A Radical Rewrite of American Film History on Thursday at noon. (Previous Mention)

Hot Dogs: I also stopped by Weeneez to grab some lunch and check how Julie's hot dog sales were faring. I was glad to find out they're now serving the foot-long dogs, and the cold weather made it espectially handy that they were giving away a free cup of Mexican hot chocolate with each dog purchased. Very tasty. (Previous Mention)
