2006 has been a fascinating year for Downtown LA. In the upcoming days I'll recap what I view as the most interesting stories we covered here in each of the past twelve months. You can also view all of blogdowntown's February posts.

Infrastructure: February started off with a Council motion by Jan Perry looking at infrastructure nodes for Downtown. There was more on that story in June, as DWP called the concept feasible.

Opening: On the 12th I posted a shot of the W|P sign on Library Court. That opened up in June.

Not Opening: On the 16th an article ran in the Times calendar section saying that the Linda Lea could reopen in the summer. I've heard exactly zero about the theater since and have seen no signs of movement.

Progress: On the 23rd I mentioned that there seemed to be interior demolition at the Bank of Italy building on the corner of 7th and Olive. Just in the week before Christmas a construction wall showed up on the Olive street sidewalk.

Merry Christmas to all of you. The shot above is just one I happened to take in February.
