Keep LA Beautiful: Tomorrow
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Tomorrow morning is the kick off for Keep LA Beautiful, our city's local version of the Keep America Beautiful campaign. Festivities start bright and early at 8am, when registration starts at City Hall. Assembled volunteers will head out from there to plant trees, paint out graffiti on the river, clean up trash and beautifying school and shelter grounds.
When the City announced this program to neighborhood council members a month or two ago it said that there would be a guest from the White House present at tomorrow's kickoff. Over at blogging.la, David Markland passes on word that the guest will be Hillary Clinton. I don't think the City was trying to say anything there, but it struck me as a funny turn.
Update: You can find photos and a write-up of the event here.

Isn't the Marathon tomorrow? Thus creating a traffic clusterf*ck that will most likely end in many people avoiding the area altogether? Hmm...
But it's a good program, nonetheless.

Marathon's Sunday. Tomorrow's Saturday, except in Australia.
