Block of 7th Closed
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — As of 9am LAPD has just closed off one block of 7th between Hope and Grand. There's no cause visible on the street, but whenever this sort of thing happens I tend to think it's a suspicious package somewhere.
Update (10am): Closures now extend Flower to Olive. Still no activity inside the closure, which again makes me think they're waiting on the bomb squad.
Update (10:30): I looked out and everything was open now. Don't think they found anything...

I saw three white LAPD Bomb Squad Suburbans rushing into downtown on the way to work. So I would assume it is a bomb threat of some sorts.

I work in UBOC Plaza at 5th and Fig and there's currently (12:30) a bomb squad truck parked on the street outside, along with maybe one or two other trucks with lights on the top. Can't really tell much more than that from up here.
I'd say they're probably just getting lunch at KooKooRoo or something, but I do see a couple of orange cones around the bomb squad truck.
Curious.
