No Stopping Downtown

When I first saw the Tuesday No Stopping signs on Spring street this morning I was appalled that a film shoot would be allowed to set up at 4am. Then I saw the same signs on Grand and the light bulb turned on.

Tuesday is May 1st, and DOT has no clue how many people are going to show up for the protest that will be taking place. To cover the odds they've posted No Stopping signs over a large swath of Downtown.

Much less publicity is being given to Fiesta Broadway despite the fact that its street closure impact will be much greater. Just don't plan on driving Sunday or Tuesday and you'll be all set.

You can find a map showing the scope of the possible road closures at

The closure signs for the May 1st protest are already up at every half block of Broadway from Exposition heading north into downtown.

also yesterday while taking the Dash to the Science Museum (this is the last weekend for the Star Wars robot exhibit, btw!) we noticed the route notices are up for May 1st. Many of the Dash routes won't be running or will be running VERY limited service. they don't, however have any kind of notice up for Fiesta Broadway which may or may not be impacting this weekend (but considering how much of downtown streets are closed Saturday & Sunday, one would think they would).
