Free Strawberries at City National Plaza
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Passing along a tip from lastraphanger:
Ya'll come on down to the Strawberry Festival, going on right now in the Arco Towers Plaza on Flower Street, across from the Central Library. Fresh strawberries, brownies and cool drinks served with a smile by folks in straw hats. It's free, but get there quick--people are scarfing down the free treats like there's no tomorrow--diets be damned!
Oh, and there's a great band playing too. It's great to see that Plaza come alive.
Sounds like fun.
Update (1:30pm): I wandered over and gave it a look (and a taste). The brownies are great. If there was any advance notice of this I certainly didn't see it.

I'm doing a project on this plaza for a class at UCLA, so if anyone took any pictures at this event, I would really appreciate seeing them. Please email me at jase at nyu.edu

the plaza (and that fountain i love so much) was featured on the most recent episode of heroes, standing in for new york. it will likely show up in the next episode, too.

Thanks for correcting me about the name of the complex; as I was writing that, I couldn't think of the new name; it will always be Arco Towers to me! they're really the West Coast "Twin Towers," aren't they?

The only advance notice of this was in the towers themselves, as this was ostensibly an event for workers in the towers. (I work in the Paul Hastings Tower.) That's likely why you didn't hear about this beforehand.
