May 27th: The blogdowntown Picnic

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — On Sunday, May 27th, blogdowntown is inviting all of you to a picnic. Dave Bullock and Ed Fuentes will be co-hosting the event, which we're holding up on the hill in Elysian Park. It's a chance to get out, meet some of the people you may only know via names and comments, and also explore a park that's so close to Downtown and yet largely ignored.
We're still putting together the exact details, but here's what you need to know for now:
May 27th.
2pm.
Elysian Park.
Bring your own food and drink.
Meet people.
Explore the park.
Keep an eye on http://blogdowntown.com/picnic for the most up to date information, including exactly where in the park we're going to do this.

I want to go and I am willing to help out and how do I get there without taking my car. What bus will take me there.

After telling someone about the commmnity that bloggers create and mentioning this picnic as an example, I was asked whether non-downtowners or non-bloggers can attend such events, or are they limited to bloggers and downtowners? Do they really reach a wider community?

The blogdowntown picnic is definitely open to anyone. The primary goal was to meet more Downtowners, but we'll certainly take anyone who wants to show up.
Can they show up and do they show up are very different questions. I hope they do.
