Less Than 48 Hours Until the Picnic

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Forty-eight hours from now I'll be up in Elysian Park for the blogdowntown picnic, and hopefully you'll be up there as well. Everyone's invited to come hang out and meet Downtowners (and friends of Downtown) as we enjoy a park that gets far too little recognition.
A major goal of having the picnic up in Elysian Park is to try and bring more awareness to a spot that should be treasured by those of us here in Downtown. At close to 600 acres, the park offers a great place to relax, picnic, or even enjoy a game of frisbee golf. The Downtown views from the park's overlooks are some of the best you're going to find. And yet parts of the park suffer from a lack of attention and care.
We're still saying to bring your own food and drink, but we're also going to have some great pizza thanks to the Los Angeles Pizza Company. They're closed on Sundays, but Oscar's opening up just to make some pies for us and then he'll be joining us at the picnic.
So come out, check out the park and meet some cool people.
