School of Coincidence

By Eric Richardson
Published: Monday, June 25, 2007, at 01:41PM

Checking in on this week's Downtown News, I had to laugh when I noted that they subtitled their piece on CALS the exact same as I titled my Thursday story on ODLH: "Downtown Charter School Graduates Its First Senior Class." I realize it isn't exactly creative copy-writing, but what are the odds that we both ran the same headline, the same week, about different Downtown charter schools?

From the Downtown News piece:

With a campus that spans two floors of a mid-rise office building, [CALS Early College High School] at Hope Street and Wilshire Boulevard is an anomaly among Los Angeles educational institutions.

And yet, it's apparently the norm Downtown. ODLH is located on both the first and second floors of the World Trade Center.
