Signs of Life for Concerto

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — There are signs of life today in the big hole that'll one day be the Concerto project at 9th and Figueroa. Aside from the occasional worker out to man the construction trailer, there's been no work on the site in eight months. Between Tuesday and today that has changed, as some new materials and machinery have shown up on site.
Though you can barely make it out in the thumbnail, the picture shows a square drawn out on the bottom of the hole with surveying equipment inside. Word is the project's crane should be going up within the next few weeks; it seems likely that this square marks out where it will rise.

After reading this post, I walked down to the Concerto site around noon to see for myself. There are two bulldozers in the pit (not operating) and surveyors working around the property. There is definitely something in the works.

They changed lenders which took some time; hence the delay.
