Will Smith is co-hosting a welcome party for David Beckham Sunday evening that's to be held at MOCA's Geffen Contemporary. It could be a quick commute for Smith, who will be Downtown filming "John Hancock" all day Saturday and Sunday. Filming notifications have been posted throughout Downtown thanks to the intense helicopter activity and explosions that will be taking place at 5th and Figueroa.

Early set shots show that "John Hancock" was the production that recently set up the CircuiTronics shop in Little Tokyo.

Production on "John Hancock" returns to 5th & Figueroa each of the following two weekends.

I saw this notice posted on my building yesterday. I hope they stick to the permit for helicopter shots until 9pm. I can't think of anything more infuriating than a loud helicopter outside your window when trying to sleep. Other than that, sounds like an exciting production. Will Smith is great!

Early sightings also here and here.
