Commander Smith Gets His Caricature

By Eric Richardson
Published: Saturday, July 21, 2007, at 10:50AM

Commander Andy Smith Last month the Downtown community turned out to congratulate the recipients of recent LAPD promotions, including Captain Andy Smith's rise to Commander. Last night the Fashion District BID played host to another celebration, as the Palm Restaurant added a caricature of Commander Smith to the ever growing collection on its walls.

Entering the Palm from the Flower street side, take a right. On the wall to your right will be a pillar with an LAPD badge and a growing collection of police faces. It's not hard to spot Commander Smith -- just look for the shiniest head.

As I've said many times before, LAPD is such an important partner in what we're doing here in Downtown. It's great to get a chance to honor those who had put so much time and energy into making Downtown a greater place.
