Hanover Crane Starts to Disassemble Itself
Ed Fuentes
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Back in December I posted about the Hanover Crane lifting a new section as it prepped to raise up and put another level on the building. Eight months later the process is reversing as the crane starts to lift down pieces of its main column.
It's quite odd to see the crane shorter than the building it just built, but I'd imagine that's a sight that won't be around all too long.
The last few days have also seen a crane disassembly at LA Live, though it wouldn't surprise me there to see that same unit rise in a different part of the development. One would think the hotel is about ready to start going vertical.
Update (Wednesday): Below the jump a shot from today showing the crane down a few more floors.

What work have they already done on the hotel? Does anyone know?

Simon: Since the June groundbreaking they've been doing the below-grade work on foundations and parking.
