The time has come for the first of the three DLANC-sponsored Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training sessions! The sessions will teach you how to help in the case of an emergency Downtown. Training will begin this Saturday, September 8th, starting at 8:30am and running to 4:30pm at the Los Angeles Theatre, located at 615 S Broadway. Lunch is provided, and will be coming from the delicious Corner Bakery.

Training will run for three Saturdays, and if you complete all three you get a hardhat and a fancy CERT vest.

There is no charge for the training or the meals, the only thing you need to bring is your thinking cap and note-taking supplies. Space is limited, so please be sure to RSVP to cert@eecue.com with your full name and phone number if you are planning on coming.

just came from the first class day. great things to have learned. amazing how little one actually knows that is pretty useful, if not critical to know. the class ended at 1:30pm...so it was not as scary long as you might expect.

Thank you for making it Jeff. We will have the food delivery worked out for next week.

Please encourage anyone else to come even if they can't make all three sessions.

As you astutely point out, even a little exposure to emergency preparedness is a good thing...

Personally I'll trade lunch for being able to leave at 1:30pm again. :}
