DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Before those gathered could even take a vote at last night's DLANC meeting on the proposed widening of 2nd street, it was made clear that Councilwoman Jan Perry is strongly opposed to the widening and will make sure that both lines of trees next to the Caltrans building stay in place. Her office also promised to look into parking concerns brought by residents of the Higgins Building.
Now that the six foot parkway has been saved, it's time to get some landscaping back in there. The patchy grass currently in place isn't quite cutting it from an aesthetic standpoint. DLANC President Russell Brown even suggested that perhaps the neighborhood council could adopt the space and enlist volunteers for upkeep.
