A large crowd is expected to coverge Downtown on Friday morning to attend the public memorial service for fallen Los Angeles Firefighter Brent Lovrien. While the service itself is at 9:30am, attendees will start gathering much early. At 8:30am there will be a procession from 1st and Main to the Cathedral, where the ceremony will be held.

A number of Downtown street closures will this event. Notably, Main street will be closed from Aliso to Temple, and Temple will be shut down from Los Angeles to Grand. Both closures will run from approximately 6am to 1pm. Other temporary closures will occur as necessary.

Those living in the Old Bank District should expect a morning of "fire apparatus." Fire houses arriving with trucks and emergency vehicles are being instructed to approach 4th and Main from the south. At that point they will be guided to parking along the walking route.

Much more information can be found on the LAFD blog.
