Downtown Art Walk Wins Urban Planning Award
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — The Downtown Art Walk is receiving a Planning Award from the Los Angeles Section of the American Planning Association. The award, to be conferred tomorrow at a ceremony held at SCI-Arc, is in the category of Grassroots Initiative.
The Los Angeles win sends Art Walk on to the state competition. The California Chapter will present its awards at its conference to be held in September in Hollywood.
The Art Walk recently celebrated its fourth anniversary, and is Downtown's largest regular neighborhood event. The second Thursday affair has expanded from its start as a gallery-only affair, and now includes retail stores, restaurants and bars.
