DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Famous tattoo artist and painter Mister Cartoon along with the Bay Area based urban fashion store Upper Playground had their grand opening on Saturday, May 31st, in a sprawling new location on 6th street between Main and Los Angeles. Hopefully the good turnout on their first day will continue and their business will thrive. I took the long trek down the elevator and shot some photos of the opening.
The location in the Santa Fe Lofts is actually made up of four adjoining spaces. One houses Upper Playground’s retail shop, while the clothing line has a second space to program as an art gallery. The third space houses “The Last Laugh,” a retail space with merchandise by Mister Cartoon and Estevan Oriol. Finally, the corner space at 6th and Los Angeles will feature rotating concepts.

Great post, great pics. Thanks!
Dave, it is not clear to me. Is Angel Baby merely the subject of the photography or is she the photographer?
David: Estevan Oriol is the photographer.
Joshman: Thanks!
David: Yeah sorry about that, she is the photographer’s muse.
