Short Term Parking Pays Off in the Arts District

New green curb in the Arts District, for 15 minute parking.

Along Traction Ave near 3rd St, where gourmet sausage restaurant Wurstküche’s take-out café is to open in mid-August, the curb has been designated a 15 minute parking zone.

It takes away some precious parking, but according to Isaac, the owner of Ay Caramaba!, the Mexican food spot located across the street, it’s been paying off already for those wanting to make a lunch pick up.

No signs are up yet, but locals can feel safe parking there from 6pm until 8am.

This is a good idea and there should be more green curbs like this in front of business where people just need to stop in to quickly buy something.

It's such an easy solution and would help the idea behind the hail-a-taxi proposals.

The problem in most places Downtown is that there are "no stopping" restrictions during peak hours, meaning that time-limited parking like this is only useful for lunch.
