Filming closes 7th street at Broadway in this file photo from September, 2007.

It’s been quite a while since we’ve done a Closure Report, but this weekend a confluence of filming may have those driving Downtown feeling like they’re wandering a maze. Four shoots will taking full closures this weekend, filming scenes for feature “Bone Deep” and shows “Sarah Connor Chronicles” and “Private Practice.”

It likely doesn’t help you to know this now, but ABC Studios has two streets closed in a shoot that kicked off at 8pm this evening. Grand Ave is shut down from Hope Place to 6th, and 5th is out from Olive to Flower. That closure lasts until 3am. From the “Private Practice” scene description:

Interior & exterior dialogue. Driving scenes. Camera & equipment on the sidewalk, in the curb lane, & across the street. Occasional traffic & pedestrian control. Emergency vehicles with flashing lights. Wetting the streets. Condor and crane. Picture ambulance parked against the flow of traffic. 3 picture vehicles.

Warner Bros Television is behind the “Sarah Connor Chronicles,” and the company’s Olive street shoot nearly derailed one site’s Park(ing) Day plans. Saturday night is primetime for the filming action, which will have a full closure of Olive from 6th to 7th lasting from 8pm to 5am. The shot rundown is fairly logistical:

Exterior dialogue. Camera and equipment on sidewalk and street. Atmospheric smoke effects. Wetting down of the street. Scissor lifts, condors and cranes. Dolly tracks. Relocate MTA Stop on West side of Hill St. between 5th St. & 6th St. on 9/19, 5:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Relocating bus stop on East side of Olive St. from 5th St. - 6th & 6th St. - 7th St. on 9/19, 5:00 A.M. - 5:00 A.M. Simulated café scene. Props on park property. Simulated arrest scene. Weapons brandished. Blacking out windows. Trucks parked overnight. Generator. Picture vehicles.

Stage 6 Films is the company for 2009 feature ”Bone Deep,” which stars Paul Walker, Hayden Christensen and Matt Dillon. The shoot will be taking two concurrent closures this weekend. On Saturday, 6th will be closed from Spring to Los Angeles from 7am to 10am. The shot description reads:

Occasional traffic and pedestrian control. Driving scenes. Camera and equipment on sidewalk, in curb lane & across street. Exterior dialogue. Near hits & misses. Stunt driving. Picture cars driving in reverse flow of traffic. Generator.

On both Saturday and Sunday, 4th will be closed from Hope to Hill and Olive will be out from 5th to General Thaddeus Kosciuszko. Those closures will last from 7am to 8pm both days. Shot description sounds action-y.

Occasional traffic and pedestrian control 4th St & Olive St, Upper Grand Ave & Hope St. Camera & equipment on sidewalk, curb lane and across the street. Interior and exterior dialogue. Stunt driving. Camera position from bridges and rooftop of library garage. Traffic jam scene. Picture vehicles traveling in reverse flow. Weapons brandished. Condor and crane. Generator. Picture vehicles.

Multiple other commercial shoots will be taking place around Downtown, but not with full closures.
