Let's Take Photos: ShootDowntown Meetup -- October 4th

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — On Saturday, October 4th, grab your camera and head Downtown to come walk around with us and shoot some photos of the city. We’ll be holding our second ShootDowntown Meetup, a chance for photographers to mingle and then explore Downtown together. Even better, we’ll be exhibiting a selection of the photos taken during the October Downtown Art Walk.

Our first meetup, held last December, drew sixteen photographers of all skill levels. We took a walk through the Historic Core, down Broadway and then up across part of Bunker Hill. It was a great time, and a fun chance to see the city through others’ eyes.

As last time, we’ll be meeting up at 9am at Arda’s Cafe on 6th street, just across the street from Pershing Square. After some time eating waffles and talking about Downtown, we’ll head out at 10am and take a walk where we snap photos and learn about the city. It doesn’t matter what kind of camera you shoot, join us to explore the city and see what you end up with.

We’ll be announcing more details on this in the next few days, but we’re going to be having a kickoff event for verbdowntown (our newly formed non-profit parent organization) during the October Downtown Art Walk. As part of that event, we’re planning to digitally exhibit some of the photography produced during the meetup. It’s a cool chance to show off different views of the city, and a fun way for you to say you’ve exhibited during Art Walk.
