The safest Downtown lunch spot you will ever find will be at 7+FIG this Friday, October 3rd, from 11am to 2pm. For $7, you can join the Los Angeles Fire Department, Los Angeles Police Department, the Sheriff’s Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and others for The 9th Annual Public Safety Appreciation Barbecue.

Each year proceeds from the barbecue benefit a different law enforcement organization. Last year's proceeds were given to the Los Angeles Police Department Memorial Foundation. Funds from this year's event go to the Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief Association.

On the menu again this year are prime rib sandwiches from Morton's, along with pastas and side salads from California Pizza Kitchen.

As we've seen in previous years, the lines are long, but they move along with the brisk efficiency of a fire crew.

The 9th Annual Public Safety Appreciation Barbecue benefits the Los Angeles Firemen's Relief Association / Friday, October 3 from 11am-2pm / 7+FIG @ Ernst & Young Plaza / On the plaza at 735 S. Figueroa.
