City Hall Sign Closet Must Be a Little Bare

This helpfully worded sign keeps visitors off the grass at City Hall's South Lawn.
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — The grass of the City Hall South Lawn has been closed off recently, and passersby are informed to stay out via a fairly questionable sign.
"FIELD UNDER REFURBISHMENT, CLOSED TO PUBLIC"
This strikes me as a sign more appropriate for a soccer field than for the City Hall lawn, and more than likely it was originally intended for just such a use.
Given that the signs are in a fairly prominent location, and they're just laminated sheets of paper, would it really have been too much to ask for the city to print something up that's more appropriate for the task? How about lawn instead of field? And perhaps something a little less stuffy than refurbishment?
