In these tough times, uncertainty shadows over election promises of hope and change. Over the last few years, the Downtown Art Walk has become quite the economic stimulus for cafes and bars, and recently an invasion of crafts sold on tables and food trucks on the streets shows the buzz isn’t over in Gallery Row.

Still, through no fault other than the national fiscal storm, galleries all over are feeling hard times.

Downtown's galleries are digging in their heels to continue bringing in refined art, refusing to take backward steps. That was noticed when gallery-goers were seen taking a harder look at art.
