Kogi BBQ Truck Becoming a Downtown Fixture
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — After making its first Downtown appearance just weeks ago, the Kogi BBQ truck is quickly becoming a regular. After hitting Main street for Art Walk and a Monday engagement at private club Doheny, the truck will be parked outside the Golden Gopher at 9pm tonight and found in Little Tokyo Thursday evening.
The vehicle, which offers Korean BBQ on to go, announces its schedule online via website and its twitter account. Its popularity was clearly on display at Art Walk, where a line of hungry fans stretched down the block on Main street.
Those regular Downtown appearances may soon get even more scheduled. Tucked in the bottom of a press release sent out by Gopher operator 213 Ventures is this nugget: "Plans are in progress to anchor the Golden Gopher/Kogi Taco Truck event in the Historic Core location every Wednesday night after 9pm to closing."
The Golden Gopher is located on 8th street, between Hill and Broadway. The Thursday schedule places the truck at the Japanese American National Museum (1st & Central) at 5pm.

I knew to look for this truck at January's Art Walk, but wasn't expecting such a line. One day maybe I'll get to try the food and see what all the fuss is about.
Hmmm... a Korean BBQ taco with a side of pulled pork sandwiches, anyone?

If it starts coming to downtown more, and we dont have to wait in crazy lines, that would rock.

The doorman @ Golden Gopher told me that past 10:15, the line dies a lot. Just fyi!
