Main Street Lights Back On

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — A dark stretch of Main street got its streetlights back this week, just in time for tonight's Downtown Art Walk. DWP blamed the outage on a blown transformer, which it replaced on Tuesday night.
Street lights on Main between 4th and 7th had been out for several weeks. The normal channels for reporting streetlight outages -- 3-1-1 and the Bureau of Street Services -- had been in the dark about the cause of the disruption.
Recent rainy weather apparently led to the transformer's demise.
