LAPD Needs Help Identifying Suspects in Skid Row Double Murder
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — LAPD is asking the community for help in finding two suspects wanted in connection with a double murder in Skid Row. On April 12, one of the suspects entered the LAMP Lodge on Stanford and fatally shot two men, while the other monitored the door. One of those killed was Kevin Cohen, known around Skid Row as "KK."
Cohen worked as an extra on the film "The Soloist," which opens today, and the production dedicated the movie's premiere to his memory.
A "Wanted" poster distributed today by LAPD's Central Division says that the suspects are known to frequent the area of Gladys Park.
LAPD describes suspect one as a 5'6" - 5'8" hispanic male, 30-40 years old, with short black hair and a thick moustache. He may have a tattoo of a Virgin Mary on his arm or bicep.
Suspect two is a 5'8" - 5'10" hispanic male with short hair, roughly 170 pounds and possibly known by the moniker "Flaco."
Anyone with information on the two suspects is urged to call LAPD Central Division Detectives Bennett or Thacker at 213-972-1203, or Central's Watch Commander at 213-485-3294.
