Today is Monday, Mayl 4, and City Council's attention remains focused on the Mayor's proposed $7 billion budget as it goes into week two of hearings. Also on the agendas are Pershing Square parking rates, an extension of the supergraphics moratorium and a motion to move the Marathon back to March.

MONDAY: Budget and Finance committee will hold another marathon session, scheduled to run from 9am to 5pm. City departments up for discussion include the Convention Center.

TUESDAY: Council and two committees are in session.

At Council, item 15 is CF 07-1783, an MOU that governs what city employees pay for parking. The item passed through committee back in March after lengthy debate, and despite objection from the firefighters union. In general, parking rates would rise some, as would transit subsidies.

Item 23 is CF 09-0673, the discount parking rate extension for Pershing Square that passed through committee on April 1. The discount rate would be extended to 2am, one additional hour.

Item 40 is CF 08-3422-S2, a motion to extend the city's moratorium on new off-site signs and supergraphics 45 more days, until June 24. The Planning and Land Use committee is expected to hear the signage ordinance again on May 12.

WEDNESDAY: Council's back in session, as are three committees.

At Trade, Commerce and Tourism committee is CF 08-2402-S1, a motion asking that the Los Angeles Marathon be moved back to a Sunday in March. Council initiated the change to a holiday Monday, which led to the 2009 race being moved to Memorial Day.
