DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — This Thursday, June 4, Hope for Firefighters returns to Bunker Hill for an afternoon of food and sport in support of a good cause. The event, now in its twelfth year, runs from 11:30am to 2:30pm and features firefighter muster games and meals prepared by twenty-five fire stations from across the city.
The event will be cooler than past years, with Thursday's high temperature only slated to reach 66 degrees. A little chill won't stop the teams scheduled to compete in the muster games, which require entrants to perform firefighter tasks including an old-fashioned hose pull and bucket brigade.
The event is a benefit for the Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief Association’s Widows, Orphans and Disabled Firemen’s Fund.
Hope for Firefighters takes place on Hope street, between Hope Place and 3rd.
