Marley's first-ever kids concert was held Saturday morning at L.A. Live's Club Nokia, part of the GRAMMY Museum's monthly "Music Explorations" family program.
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — A crowd of children and parents filled Club Nokia on Saturday morning to hear Ziggy Marley perform his first kids show, part of the GRAMMY Museum's "Musical Explorations" family series.
Last month, four-time GRAMMY winner Marley released his first children's album, "Family Time." "Growing up music was an important part of my childhood,” Marley said in a release. "I see it being just as important in my children and all children growth and development. Music helps children to grow with open minds and open hearts and this is my message."
The event was the first that the GRAMMY Museum has held in the next-door Club Nokia.
Opening for Marley were local performers Rhythm Child, who led the children in creating their own rhythms on drums that had been distributed throughout the audience.
