DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Songwriter and guitarist Marshall Crenshaw visits the GRAMMY Museum's intimate Sound Stage on Monday, June 15, to perform and discuss his new album "Jaggedland." Want to go? We've got tickets.
The 55-year-old Crenshaw had first first and only top-40 hit in 1982 with "Someday, Someway," but has a reputation that far exceeds his record sales.
"In my opinion, Marshall Crenshaw is one of the most talented and unheralded songwriters of the last quarter century,” GRAMMY Museum Executive Director Robert Santelli said in a release.
The show is part of the museum's ongoing series titled "The Drop," which highlights new releases by influential artists.
Want to be part of Monday's show? We've got five pairs of tickets to give away. Just leave a comment explaining why you'd like to see the show. We'll close off the entries Sunday at noon. Make sure to include an email address or log in via Facebook.

I have been a MC fan since day one. His ability to not get lost in the evreyday aspects of the record buisness and be his true self and write songs that have depth and meaning yet with simplicity is an artform that is hard to find today. He is truely a treasure that just gets better with age.

It's probably fair to say Marshall Crenshaw certainly hasn't been corrupted by commercial sucess, but the songs stand on their own. I'd submit the fact that during 1982 when "Someday, Someway" came out, for most of the year #1 on the Hot 100 was monopolized by "Physical", "Centerfold", "Ebony & Ivory", & "Eye of the Tiger". If any BlogDowntowner's are desperate for Olivia Newton-John, J. Geil's Band, post-Wings Paul McCartney, or Survovor tix, they are all yours, my friend. I, however, will stick with the the wack "MC".

Would love to know more about Marshall beyond Someday Some way, which is a terrific song! Thanks BlogDowntown!

“I’m Sorry, (but so is Brenda Lee)”, about wanting to win tickets “Someday, Someway” to see MC who is “My Favorite Waste of Time.” “I’d Do Anything “(except use “Gasoline Baby”) to walk across “Our Town” at “Seven Miles an Hour” to “Rave On” with “The In Crowd.” “That’s It, I Quit, I’m Moving On.”
