DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Today is Monday, June 30, and City Council again has marijuana on its mind. At a special session of the planning committee, 29 of the pending hardship exemptions will be considered. First up is the dispensary that recently opened at 6th and Spring. Also on the calendar, homelessness and a reward for information concerning the post-Lakers looting.
MONDAY: Four committees are in session.
At a special meeting of the Planning and Land Use Management committee, the first item is CF 05-0872-S425, a consideration of the hardship exemption application filed by the marijuana dispensary that just recently opened at 6th and Spring. The 29 item agenda is full of similar applications, though none others Downtown.
The Ad-Hoc Committee on Homelessness meets at 3:30pm, in City Hall room 1060.
TUESDAY: Council's in session, and two committees join it on the calendar.
At Council, item 53 is CF 09-0010-S41, a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of individuals involved in the looting and rioting that took place after the Lakers championship win. Arrests have continued to be made from surveillance video and news photographs.
WEDNESDAY: Wednesday, only council is in session. The agenda contains no action items.
