A man standing in the foreground is dwarfed by the giant media risers erected for Tuesday's Michael Jackson memorial service at Staples Center.

The open space of Nokia Plaza was transformed into a massive media center over the weekend, with tiered risers installed to accommodate the multitude of broadcasters converging on Tuesday's memorial service for Michael Jackson.

Dozens of broadcast outlets have parked their satellite and microwave trucks either on Chick Hearn Court or in parking lots across Figueroa.

While the two-story tall riser setup certainly feels impressive from the ground, an elevated perspective offers a better sense of just how big the installation really is.

The photo above is taken from the Herbalife's 5th floor balcony, looking across the plaza toward Staples Center.
