DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Over 360 dogs, including a few from out of town, joined pups who live Downtown to network and gossip on Tuesday at the third Dog Day Afternoon at the Cathedral.
Buddy would have been proud. He's the late golden retriever who is considered a pioneer for pups living in Downtown's Historic Core, and the annual event the furry host helped launch two years ago has grown. It even garnered some local television coverage.
Some of the over 700 humans in attendance were unleashed and unattached to canine, but they mostly behaved as they mingled on the plaza grounds of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels.
Downtown Dog Day Afternoon was hosted by Downtown Center BID, "Scooter" Bastian and "Joaquin" Kostelnik.
